The Life of Keeg

I was searching my room for my first aid certificate I found the book Wild at Heart and have decided to read it- I hear it's good- funny how Jennica and Jamie's books and things are in this room of mine- I even found this card which I thought was a love letter from Jamie Graham (my bro-in-law) to Jennica- but it turns out is was written by another Jamie (even spelt the same).....it is addressed to Jennica and even mentions Jamie G....who could this be?????? Maybe it's Jamie 's (Jennica's husband) sick way of writing in third person....man my family is weird. So, I decided that I have a new dream job: working with kids with special needs for summer programs for an organization called Bethesda in abbotsford (I have always secretly wanted to work for them). When I was dropping of my resume I saw a plaque that said "Best Christian WorkPlace" wow sounds like I know how to pick em!

Keegan and Jan at Lynn Canyon
Oh and we also made it to the base of grouse mtn- it costs too much for the gondola ride to the top!
Jan and Jake

English Bay

Lynn Canyon

This car was quite the spectacle on Granville island!

hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil!
I had the absolute most perfect day last saturday!! I got up early, like usual- did my aqua spin- then got home and waited for my cousin Jake and his buddy Jon to come! They drove 4 hours (approx) from Tacoma, Wa to visit me. Jan is from Germany and studied with Jake (early childhood education) and he had NEVER BEEN TO VANCOUVER BEFORE! So, we headed out no maps some general idea of where we wanted to go: first stop- Lynn Canyon (because we think that 21 bucks for the capilano suspension bridge is overpriced- and Lynn Canyon had 2 suspension bridges. After that- we stop at a Waldorf school and looked around- the boys were pretty stoked as this is a type of school with a certain approach and atmosphere to teaching that is, I think, old fashioned but very refreshing way of thinking. So we stopped and look around the property (with permission of course). Next stop: English Bay and Stanley Park- splashed around for a bit- took some cool videos....Then we went to Granville island- crazy traffic and what appeared to be no parking- until alas Jan spotted someone leaving and we scored their spot!! We saw the market, bought some ingredients to make supper that night, got some yummy chai tea and sat a looked at the water from our seaside table. Last stop: Mountain equipment co-op!! At the end we went to the rooftop parking and I took some pictures of the city. We then went home, and the boys made yummy supper- a German dish I can't pronounce or spell, and then we watched Breakfast club. So that concluded one of the best days yet in my life of 26 years!

lines from some Sufjan Stephens songs that I like:
What the water wants in hurricanes,
and sailboats to ride on its' back.
What the water wants is sun kiss,
and land to run into and back. (from Sister- Seven Swans album)

more to come...
I just saw the movie "the Chronicles are Narnia" it moved me to tears, so many metaphors for God, HIs love for us and the spiritual world we are so often blind to. My favorite parts of the movie are when Mr.Thomas says about Narnia "it's always winter, but never christmas..." I like it because Relient K wrote a song based on this line call "In like a lion (always winter)" from their new Apathetic ep cd. I also like the part where the children are watching Aslum walk away on the beach- and they say "He's not a tame lion is he....but he is good" I liked that because Derek Webb in his live cd talks about how God, like Aslum, is not safe, but how He is good- I have never liked fighting scenes, but the battle (filmed in New Zealand I hear) showed how the "underdogs" can really have victory using creativity (the birds that came out of nowhere dumping rocks and confusing the enemies- it reminded me of the battles I've read about in the Old testament. So, if you haven't seen it yet- see Chronicles of Narnia!
